Monday 11th October – bike **** – Two River, Orwell to the Deben
including lunch at Landguard pier – sunny and warm:).
The lovely weather continues here on the East Coast at Felixstowe, usual
morning at home including exercises in the back garden with Mag pottering
as the chimney sweep does his yearly clean but sadly did not see a brush
out of the top like in Mary Poppins! There was a slight chance of a foil
today but the wind remanded light so Mag heated up some homemade soup and
we set off on our bikes again to make the most of the good weather. Down
through Langer Park and onto Landguard by the river Orwell where we enjoy
our yummy soup enjoying the stunning scenery, not much boat action just a
few yachts. Then back across the heath of the reserve collecting a small
pot of blackberries, they are getting small now. Back along the prom as Mag
turns up Bent Hill and home while I carry onto the Ferry as the breeze
picks up. The tide is now very high as I walk around the boat yard taking a
few pics before heading on the Deben path to Kings Fleet. Down Marsh Lane
with several tractors busy in the field, skirting the park at the Grove and
home in time for a cuppa and cake with Mag. Again, there might be enough
wind for a foil tomorrow but looking marginal or perhaps Thursday but sadly
nothing very strong, definitely not a good week for the Weymouth
Speedweek!
